這是飛蜥科的物種, 不過看起來不太像, Xenagama的phylogenetic affinity一直到Macey et al. (2006)的文章才被瞭解一些, 姐妹群是Pseudotrapelus這個屬. Macey et al. (2006)這篇文章很有趣, 不知道怎麼會想到拿這個很不常見的物種來做complete genome. 之前看到一些沒有被照顧好的個體, 還以為這個東西就只是趴在地上, 沒想到居然也有明顯的sexual dichromatism, 公的也非常漂亮, 不過目前沒有觀察到什麼伏地挺身的行為.相關文章可見:
